SJ Berwin makes up tax partner in Paris

International law firm SJ Berwin has announced that it has promoted eight lawyers to partnership, effective 5 May 2011. Of these, there is one new tax partner: Raphael Béra, based in the Paris office

Mr Bera has extensive experience in the tax structuring of:

– alternative investment funds (private equity funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds…) in multiple jurisdictions: French FCPRs, Luxembourg SICARs or SIFs, limited partnerships, etc. Including structuring of carried interest and co-investment mechanisms;

– Mergers & Acquisitions: LBOs and other private M&A deals, public tender offers (OPA / OPE), spin-offs;

– real estate transactions, including acquisitions of French real property by institutional investors and wealthy non-resident individuals.
