Tersa Dyson appointed to the Australian Board of Taxation

Blake Dawson tax partner Teresa Dyson has been appointed to the Board of Taxation by the Federal Government.

Ms Dyson, who specialises in direct tax law in the resources, infrastructure and finance sectors, will join the non-statutory advisory body which advises on the design, operation and implementation of Australia’s taxation laws.
The Board provides recommendations on the overall functioning of the tax system and also responds to inquiries and referrals by the Treasurer, including matters involving tax reform and tax administration.

Ms Dyson, who is based in Blake Dawson’s Brisbane office, said of her new role: “I am very pleased to have such an opportunity to contribute in a unique way to the development of tax laws and practice and to be involved in the interface between business and the Government and its agencies that the Board of Tax provides.”
