Chris Leach and Sam Neale leave Deloitte to join Crowe Horwath in Sydney
National accounting firm and leader in the SME space Crowe Horwath has announced senior appointments which will add new expertise to its tax advisory team.
The appointment of Chris Leach (Principal) and Sam Neale (Associate Principal) will bolster the tax advisory team in Sydney, with Mr Leach leading the Energy and Resources tax advisory practice and Mr Neale supporting him in that mandate.
“Chris and Sam bring with them extensive experience in all aspects of corporate taxation, with an emphasis on the energy and resources sectors. This is particularly valuable at a time when the carbon and mining taxes continue to be a key concern for many clients,” said Crowe Horwath Sydney Chief Executive Darren O’Brien.
Mr Leach and Mr Neale join Crowe Horwath from one of the big four accounting firms, where they advised medium to large companies on investment structures, transactions and implementations, as well as advising on the mining and carbon taxes. Mr Leach and Mr Neale also have extensive experience in-house and on the regulatory side.
“We bring Chris and Sam on board following several new tax advisory appointments announced earlier in the year, bringing us to a total of four new Principals for the tax advisory team in the past six months alone,” said Mr O’Brien. “These appointments boost our tax advisory offering both small to medium enterprise (SME) segment and larger corporates, meeting our clients’ diverse tax needs by giving them access to the best talent in the market.”
