Kirschenbaum, Wisner and Kendall join Alvarez & Marsal Taxand
Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, a founding member of the first global network of the world’s leading independent tax firms, announced that Alan Kirschenbaum, Kent Wisner and Jeffrey Kendall have joined as managing directors in the Miami, San Francisco and New York offices, respectively.

In his new role at A&M Taxand, Mr. Kirschenbaum will help clients and potential clients understand and act on the tax implications of their business growth and performance improvement decisions. Additionally, he will play a lead role in continuing to build and expand A&M’s tax practice, and help to leverage the advisory and management capabilities of Alvarez & Marsal. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kirschenbaum served as chief financial officer, assistant treasurer and director of tax for Fortune 500 companies and start-up organizations. A graduate of the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Mr. Wisner, who most recently led the Silicon Valley tax practice of global law firm K&L Gates LLP, will play a lead role in growing the northern California tax practice. An M&A and international tax expert, he previously served as an international partner in the tax practice of Baker & McKenzie, as well as a principal providing international tax services in the Big Four environment. A graduate of Stanford University, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and the University of Virginia’s School of Law, he serves on the faculty at the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley where he has taught international taxation law since 2001.
Mr. Kendall will serve as managing director of Tax Business Development and Client Relations. With his experience in long-term strategic account planning, he will take a lead role in helping to grow the tax practice. Prior to joining A&M, he spent 13 years in the tax practice of Deloitte. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions in tax management of local and regional CPA firms while serving as the lead tax adviser to the firm’s tax clients. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College and Pace University, he is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
