Weaver announces new Partner-in-Charge, Tax and Strategic Business Services in Fort Worth
Weaver, the largest independent accounting firm in the Southwest, announces that Samuel F. Wren, CPA has been recently named the partner-in-charge of the firm’s tax and strategic business services in Fort Worth.
Wren, who joined Weaver in 1991 when he began his career, has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. He provides tax services to partnerships and corporations, focusing primarily on the energy and real estate industries.

Wren earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Texas Christian University (TCU). He is a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and its Fort Worth chapter, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Information Technology Alliance and the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Fort Worth and previously chaired the organization’s Small Oil and Gas Committee. He is the Tax Special Committee chair for the national Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies. His civic involvement includes being a member of Leadership Fort Worth (Class of 2006) and the TCU Alumni Association. He is also a volunteer with the United Way of Tarrant County and the American Red Cross. He formerly served on the board of the YMCA’s Camp Carter.
Weaver’s tax and strategic business services group provides a full range of tax compliance and planning services to businesses and individuals, including representation before the IRS and other taxing authorities; compensation planning; trust and estate tax return preparation; IRA distribution planning; stockholder (buy/sell) reviews; federal and state tax credit reviews; inventory and LIFO studies; cost segregation; business acquisition and sale strategies; choice of entity; 1031 tax free exchanges; FAS 109 compliance; and net operating loss utilization.
