4 New Tax Partners at Tax Law Firm: Flick Gocke Schaumburg
Flick Gocke Schaumburg has appointed 5 New Partners as of January 2012
Associated partners Dr. Jens Eggenberger, Dr. Torsten Engers, Dr. Michael Hendricks, Dr. Carsten Schlotter and Marc Schmidt will become equity partners as of 1 January 2012. At the same time, six of the firm’s associates will join the ranks of the associated partners, and two associates will be appointed new directors of FGS Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.

In the past few years, Flick Gocke Schaumburg has regularly appointed three to four equity partners from its own ranks. From January 2012, the partners of the firm will number 79, including 41 partners within the meaning of the German Act on Professional Partnerships (PartGG). The firm also has over 160 associates practicing in the areas of legal, tax and audit consultancy at its offices in Bonn, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.
The new equity partners as of 1 January 2012 are:
Dr. Torsten Engers was born in 1973 and works at the Frankfurt office. He qualified as a lawyer in 2003, has been a certified tax consultant since 2006 and is an expert advisor on international tax law. His work mainly focuses on issues of international tax law, the structuring of foreign investments in Germany, M&A and corporate reorganizations as well as the taxation of real-estate investments. Torsten Engers is also a lecturer at the University of Frankfurt.
Dr. Michael Hendricks was born in 1968 and is based in Bonn. A lawyer since 2001 and a certified tax consultant since 2006, his areas of specialization include litigation and procedural law, European and international tax law, business taxation and the taxation of reorganizations. He is a member of the German Tax Law Society and the International Fiscal Association. He has been a lecturer in international and European tax law at the University of Passau since 2007.
Dr. Carsten Schlotter was born in 1974 and works at the Bonn office. He has been a lawyer since 2004 and a certified tax consultant since 2009. He specializes in corporate reorganizations, accounting law, international tax law, the taxation of artists and athletes, constitutional aspects of tax law and tax litigation. Carsten Schlotter is a member of the German Tax Law Society.
Marc Schmidt was born in 1969 and is based in Bonn. He has been a certified tax consultant since 1998 and a public auditor since 2000. His field of expertise comprises auditing, accounting law, tax
audits and M&A transaction services. As well as working as an advisor, he lectures at the Federal Financial Academy in Brühl.
