Atkins hires Jhan Mattox as tax director for North America region
Jhan I. Mattox has joined Atkins—one of the world’s top-ranked design and engineering consultancies—as tax director for the company’s North American business.
In his new role, Mattox will manage all federal and state tax matters for Atkins’ North American region, which is headquartered in Tampa. His responsibilities will include ensuring Atkins’ compliance with all federal and state tax laws, providing tax research, and planning and managing tax audits.
Mattox comes to Atkins from Parsons Corporation, where as a vice president he led the tax function for 15 years. Before joining Parsons, he was a vice president with British Gas Holding, Inc., where he was responsible for providing tax advice, overseeing acquisitions, and managing the company’s U.S. and host-country tax functions.“We’re glad to have Jhan join us in this important position for our company,” said Lynn Behler, chief financial officer for Atkins’ North American business. “His tremendous experience in both private industry and public accounting will be a great asset to Atkins as we develop a robust tax capability in the U.S.”Mattox is a certified public accountant who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in professional accounting (MPA) from the University of Texas at Austin.
