Laurence Parry joins HedgeStart from HMRC to lead Private Client Team

Laurence Parry joined HedgeStart Partners LLP this month.

Laurence has specialised in advising owner managers and private clients on tax matters for over 20 years. Whilst Laurence’s focus is on tax solutions, he believes passionately that the answer must fit with the specific client’s commercial and personal objectives. Rarely will an ‘off the shelf’ product be optimal. Laurence joined HedgeStart as a partner in 2012 and leads the growing private client tax practice.

Prior to joining HedgeStart, Laurence was an anti-avoidance adviser within HM Revenue and Customs, so is well placed to give advice concerning HMRC enquiries and any issues arising. As a key member of several policy teams in the private client field, he brings up to date and in depth knowledge. Before HMRC, Laurence was a tax partner for over 10 years in a similar sized firm to HedgeStart, delivering creative tax and commercial solutions across his client base.

After reading History at the University of York, Laurence qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor with Ernst & Young and spent his early career with KPMG.

He is also an accredited mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, and can assist all clients in commercial and tax negotiations and disputes.
