Former Dupont Tax Executive launches GR8 to offer interim tax advice to LatAM subsids
Cristina Sampaio Cavalieri Teixeira has resigned from Dupont to found GR8 Consultoria. GR8 was born of the idea to provide strategic tax guidance to companies with subsidiaries in Latin America in the role of an interim or part time Tax executive.
Cristina is Brazilian, with a degree in Business Administration from the Universidade Catolica de Salvador and a post-degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Sao Paulo. She is fluent in English and Spanish, in addition to Portuguese (native speaker).
Cristina has large experience in tax consulting in Brazil, having started her career with Arthur Andersen in 1995. During this time, Cristina worked with direct and indirect taxes, as well as individual income taxes and international taxation. In 2001, Cristina became a Tax Manger at Andersen.
In 2004, Cristina started working as the Head of Tax for multinationals, when she joined Nortel Networks. In 2005, she relocated to Miami and was named Caribbean & Latin America Tax Manager for Nortel. Cristina worked for Nortel Networks until 2007, when she accepted a job offer from Cisco Systems as Latin America & Canada Direct Tax Manager. In 2009, Cristina returned to Brazil and, at the end of that year, she accepted a job offer from DuPont. In that role, Cristina was leading a team of 50 people responsible for all direct and indirect tax compliance activities, tax planning, transfer pricing, tax litigation, reporting to the US (including FAS 109, FIN 48 and FAS 5 analysis) of all subsidiaries in Latin America, specially Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Peru and Ecuador. Cristina stayed on this role until March 2013, when she started GR8 Consultoria, her own tax consulting firm.
