Jude Ocampo joins DFDL as Tax Director of Cambodia practice
DFDL has announced that Jude Ocampo joined DFDL as Tax Director of the Cambodia Tax Practice Group last month.
As Tax Director, Jude will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the tax practice in Cambodia. He will also lend his technical expertise to the rest of DFDL and will work closely with Jack Sheehan and Bernard Cobarrubias in the regional tax practice.
Jude is an accomplished international tax adviser with over ten years of professional experience gained from working in the top tax consulting firms in the world – Ernst & Young (EY), KPMG, and Deloitte. Prior to joining DFDL, he was International Tax Director at Ernst & Young in Budapest, Hungary. In this capacity he led teams providing international tax structuring and tax efficient supply chain management services. Jude also served as a Tax Director in EY Philippines where he advised clients in the financial services and energy industries.
As Principal at KPMG Manabat Sanagustin & Co. in the Philippines (2009 – 2010), Jude led teams providing tax and corporate advisory services to clients. He managed numerous tax due diligence of and advised on revenue laws and tax treaties to clients in the banking, energy, manufacturing, media and shipping industries. He was also Risk Management Partner for tax services where he was responsible for compliance with local laws and internal ethical and quality standards.
At Deloitte TCF, LLP, Jude was Legal and Tax Partner based in Kazhakstan and covering the Caspian region. Aside from tax due diligence reviews, he headed teams providing advice on tax structuring on Kazhak asset-backed securitization to international banks, cross-border sales of shares and assets (oil and gas industry), and structuring overseas holding companies investing in Caspian corporations and assets.
Jude is a member of the Philippine Bar Association. He holds a Master of Business Administration (University of North Carolina – Kenan Flagler Business School, USA), Master of Laws (Harvard Law School, USA), and Bachelor of Laws (University of the Philippines, Philippines).
