Sean Randall is new Head of Stamp Taxes Group at KPMG
KPMG has appointed Sean Randall as head of its Stamp Taxes Group in the UK. Sean joins as an associate partner, returning to KPMG after beginning his career in tax at the firm in 2000. Prior to his return, Sean spent the past eight years at Deloitte, also specialising in stamp taxes.
Sean has considerable experience specialising in stamp taxes advising, amongst others, developers, investors, occupiers, funds and banks on real estate transactions, group reorganisations, corporate reconstructions, demergers and placings. He is a barrister by training, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, a council member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners’ Group and the editor of Sergeant and Sims on Stamp Taxes.
Sean Randall said: “I’m thrilled to return to KPMG and, in particular, to have the opportunity to lead an excellent group of individuals. Stamp taxes continue to be very important to a range of transactions. Over the next couple of months, I hope to make a clear proposition to the market of what the Stamp Taxes Group can do and where it can add value.”

Including Sean, KPMG’s Stamp Taxes Group now comprises six full-time specialists providing advice on stamp duty, stamp duty reserve tax, stamp duty land tax, annual tax on enveloped dwellings and, from April 2015, land and buildings transaction tax for clients across a broad range of industry sectors.”
