Catherine Desmond joins partnership at Safferys and will lead Manchester tax team
Top 20 firm of chartered accountants Saffery Champness has appointed Catherine Desmond to partner, based in its Manchester office.
Catherine Desmond has been part of the team at the Saffery Champness Manchester office since 2003 and is a member of the firm’s Landed Estates Group. In her new position as partner, she will play a leading role in the firm’s work with rural businesses and estates across Cheshire and Derbyshire.
Saffery Champness managing partner, Jonathan Fox, said that her appointment would see the firm widen its reach across the north west, particularly in its key specialisms of landed estates and owner-managed businesses. He said:
“We are fortunate to have the benefit of Catherine’s expertise in succession, inheritance and trust issues. Her understanding of the specific issues facing private clients, landed estates and their businesses and families has made her a key member of our senior team.
“We know what we’re good at and by sharpening our focus and strengthening our expertise in our tried and trusted specialisms of landed estates and other rural sector businesses, owner-managed businesses and private wealth we have managed both to grow our business and invest for the future.”
