Weaver hires Mike Goral from PwC to lead the Firm’s SALT practice
Mike Goral, J.D, LL.M recently joined Weaver, as the partner-in-charge of state and local tax (SALT) services. He will lead the firm’s SALT practice out of the firm’s Dallas office.
“Mike’s exclusive concentration and experience in SALT services will provide a platform for Weaver to rapidly continue the expansion of our state and local tax practice throughout Texas and the United States,” said Clint Siddons, partner-in-charge of tax and strategic business services.
Goral brings years of experience in state and local tax matters involving income/franchise, sales/use taxes, credits and incentives in all states. He has extensive knowledge in various industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, hospitality, high-tech, transportation and real estate.
Most recently, Goral worked as a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the SALT practice leader responsible for new business development and management of the Fort Worth, Austin and Little Rock markets. He also managed large engagements with various multistate tax matters involving income/franchise and sales/use taxes including corporate restructurings, audits, voluntary disclosure agreements, letter rulings, multistate compliance matters and reverse sales tax audits.

Goral’s professional memberships include the Institute of Professionals in Taxation. He often presents taxation topics at professional organizations and has been published in numerous legal and business tax publications.
Goral earned a Master of Laws (LL.M), an internationally-recognized postgraduate law degree that, in his case, specializes in tax law from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Ga., a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Ala., and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and psychology at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
