EY US acquires corporate tax management consulting firm, Atlas Service Link
Ernst & Young LLP announced today that the corporate tax management consulting firm Atlas Service Link LLC (“Atlas”) has joined the firm in the US.
Headquartered in Dallas, Atlas provides an integrated approach to enhancing tax data management, technology optimization and process re-engineering initiatives for multi-national companies.
Global tax reporting and compliance burdens continue to increase significantly as a result of tax law changes, IFRS adoption/convergence, and Uncertain Tax Position reporting requirements. Atlas focuses on assessing and making recommendations about global tax technologies, as well as designing operational processes to improve the benefits of any technology suite.
Atlas founders Tony LaBove and Travis Fox were previously with Ernst & Young LLP and return with an understanding of the firm’s organization and culture. “We’re thrilled to welcome Tony and Travis back to EY,” says Kate Barton, the EY Americas Vice Chair – Tax Services. “Adding Atlas strengthens our leading Tax Performance Advisory (TPA) offerings, helping companies improve end-to-end business processes that drive tax performance.”
“The philosophy of Atlas is that our people must understand our clients’ business problems and then apply the right mix of technology and process. No one method, technology platform or configuration is right for all circumstances. We have designed an effective way to help tax directors find and manage the right combination of resources and technologies for their situation,” says Atlas co-founder Tony LaBove. “EY takes the same approach and we’re confident that this is a great fit for Atlas employees.”
Co-founder Travis Fox agrees: “Our guiding principles are the same as those of EY,” he says. “The key tenant of both organizations is to develop long-term relationships and provide exceptional client service. Our comprehensive approach considers the client’s specific and unique operating environment, including accessible technologies, such as ERP systems, consolidation systems and existing tax technologies in developing software selections, operational efficiency and functional integration recommendations. By joining EY, we’ll be able to provide Atlas clients with a greater depth of services and we’ll be able to bring our skillsets to serve current EY clients.”
