Richard Asquith joins Avalara as VP Global Tax

Richard Asquith has joined the tax compliance software company, Avalara.

Richard has a high profile in the media and is often interviewed by major television networks to comment on indirect tax issues. For the last 9 years he has been Global Head of VAT & IPT at TMF Group, having created and led its global indirect tax compliance service.

Looking back, his career has always had an international flavour. He trained in the UK with KPMG before moving with the Firm to Hungary, He then joined EY in Moscow before moving internally to Paris. In 1998 he returned to London to work for the BBC for 3 years in a Finance role and then became CFO of Epoch (a tech start-up), where he worked for 4 years.
