Jean-Paul Ouaksel opens Ryan’s new French office
Ryan has announced the Firm’s continued expansion across Europe with the opening of a new office in Paris, France.
Jean-Paul Ouaksel has joined Ryan’s management team as a Principal to lead the new French practice and support the Firm’s European growth. Mr. Ouaksel will direct the delivery of value added tax (VAT) recovery, advisory, and compliance solutions, as well as an integrated suite of international tax, transfer pricing, and tax technology solutions to multinational clients operating throughout France.
Mr. Ouaksel has more than 25 years of VAT, tax audit, and law experience supporting global corporations across every major industry sector. Prior to joining Ryan, he served as National Head of Indirect Tax for EY and as Global Indirect Tax Director for a Sanofi-Aventis. For the past 4 years he has run his own tax practice.
He is President of the VAT commission of the MEDEF, the main professional federation defending the positions of French companies to create and maintain favorable conditions for development and competitiveness. He is also one of three French VAT experts appointed by the European Commission to be a member of the VAT expert group in Brussels.
