Steven Madsen resigns from EY to join Andersen Tax National Tax Office
Steve Madsen joined Andersen Tax as a Director in the firm’s National Tax Office. He is located in the New York office.
Steve has held diverse roles including 15 years at a big four accounting firm in their mergers and acquisitions practice, and 11 years at major New York law firms. Most recently he was an Executive Director at EY’s Transaction Tax group.
His experience includes:
? Advisory services on internal restructurings of the US operations of a multinational consumer products company and the foreign operations of a major industrial corporation.
? Advised on entity rationalization following the acquisition by a major financial corporation of a multi-national assets management business.
? Advised EY Japanese Business Services group on a wide variety of transactions.
? As in-house Counsel at the Long Island Lighting Company, advised on a multi-billion taxable spin-off and merger to form KeySpan Energy (now part of National Grid) with the simultaneous sale of the electric transmission and distribution business to the Long Island Power Authority.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, a Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of California, Berkeley – School of Law, and an LLM in Tax from New York University School of Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
