Tax Lawyer Ed Denny gets partnership by moving to Orrick
Orrick announced today that Edward Denny has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Tax Practice Group, resident in London.
Formerly with Norton Rose Fulbright, Mr. Denny focuses on the tax aspects of corporate finance transactions and structures, in particular, mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies. Mr. Denny has recently advised on the tax issues in connection with HSBC’s £12.5 billion underwritten rights issue; Iberia’s £4.4 billion merger with British Airways; AXA’s £2.75 billion disposal of its UK life insurance business and Delta’s acquisition of a £220 million stake in Virgin Atlantic.

Mr. Denny was selected as one of the UK’s 2012 leading young tax practitioners by Tax Journal, a leading journal for the business tax community, in its ‘40 under 40’ list of tax specialists to watch and has been published regularly in Tax Journal, PLC Magazine, BNA International and Financier Worldwide.
Before joining Norton Rose he spent 6 years with Slaughter & May.
