Dallas tax lawyer joins Jones Day partnership
Jones Day has announced that 42 lawyers have been named to the Firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2015.

Louis Jenull represents clients in most phases of federal income taxation with a particular emphasis on real estate (including domestic and cross-border real estate transactions), oil and gas, and a wide range of tax credits. He has significant experience in domestic and international real estate private equity fund formations and operations; the formation and operation of public and private real estate investment trusts; distressed asset transactions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia; and the structuring and formation of complex partnerships with tax-exempt, U.S. taxable, and foreign investors.
Louis has particular experience within the energy sector as well with an emphasis on oil and gas focusing on master limited partnerships (including formation and operation), asset acquisitions, and joint venture formations.
He also has experience in the structuring of various tax-advantaged investments, including structures for the monetization of tax credits (including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, energy and investment tax credits, refined coal tax credits, and new markets tax credits), and a variety of structured finance transactions. Among his regular clients in these areas are Goldman Sachs and other large corporate investors.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Louis developed extensive experience working in a KPMG focusing on international tax planning and mergers and acquisitions in the areas of real estate, oil and gas, and private equity ventures.
