Michael Hearne joins Weaver as tax partner (with FS focus) in new LA office
Weaver has announced the official opening of the firm’s newest office, located in the greater Los Angeles area.
Michael Hearne, CPA, joins Weaver as a partner in tax and strategic business services for the Los Angeles area office. Hearne and Matt Anderson, assurance partner, will work together to grow Weaver’s Los Angeles practice with particular focus in the financial services industry. The partners previously worked together on the expansion of Rothstein Kass’ financial services practice on the West Coast in early 2000.

Hearne brings to Weaver more than 22 years of experience in tax and business consulting and tax compliance. His extensive business and tax knowledge and insight primarily focuses in the financial services industry including hedge funds, private equity funds and structured investments in capital markets. He also has experience in real estate investments, international tax issues and tax structuring for foreign investments in the United States.
Most recently, Hearne owned Proprietary Fund Services, LLC, his own practice providing tax and business consulting and tax compliance services predominantly to high net worth families and family offices, particularly those with significant investments in financial markets, including alternative investments. Previously, he was a tax principal and shareholder for Rothstein Kass & Co., P.C. in Beverly Hills, Calif. He also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Seattle and San Francisco.
Hearne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Hearne earned a Master of Taxation degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.
