Leaked Memo: Tax Lawyer Lewis Steinberg appointed Head of Structured Solutions at Merrill Lynch
The New York Times reported today that Lewis Steinberg is joining Merrill Lynch in May. According to an internal memo (see here) which has been verified, he will join Merrills as Head of Structured Solutions in the Americas M&A Group.
He joins from Credit Suisse where he was a managing director and Head of Strategic Advisory, focused on structuring M&A transactions. Prior to that, he was a managing director and global head of the Strategic Solutions Group at UBS.
Mr Steinberg started his career in 1984 as an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP where he was a partner and co-head of the tax department. He moved in-house in 2005, joining UBS.
