PwC U.S. has announced that it expanded its Private Company Services (PCS) practice across the state of Florida, offering PwC’s full range of services including audit and assurance, tax and advisory services to private companies, their owners and high net-worth individuals in the region. PwC expects to grow its number of professionals in the region by nearly 50 percent across the next three years across its offices in Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.

“We’re delighted to expand our private company offering to Florida,” says Rich Stovsky, U.S. leader of PwC’s Private Company Services practice. “We’ve expanded our national practice exponentially and expect Florida to be our fastest growing market for private company services to date. Through our global network and local professionals we will help companies in Florida to meet business demands and remain a key driver of the overall U.S. economy.”

As part of its expansion, PwC has appointed David Zimmerman as Florida PCS Leader, who will be based in the firm’s Tampa office. Zimmerman is a tax partner who specializes in serving private companies on corporate income tax issues as well as international tax, state and local taxation, mergers and acquisition planning, due diligence analysis and tax minimization strategies. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland as well as a master’s degree in taxation from Villanova University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Mr Zimmerman is a seasoned PwC leader. He was Head of Tax at Harrisburg from 1996 to 1998, North Florida Tax Leader from 1999 to 2003, PCS Tax Leader for NY Metro from 2003 to 2010, and PCS Leader for US East Region from 2010 to 2014. Since 2014 he has been the PCS Sales & Marketing Leader for the Greater Boston area.

“Florida has become a hotbed for fast-growing private companies, both domestically and for international companies seeking expansion in the U.S.,” adds Zimmerman. “With increased competition, regulatory shifts and a fierce battle for talent, we are seeing an increased demand for our services. We look forward to helping companies in Florida to navigate these complex set of challenges.”
