Andersen Tax announces raft of promotions in the US

Andersen Tax announces the promotion of David Bollis, part of the Private Client Services group, to Managing Director. He will be joining four other Managing Directors in the Houston office: Elliott Bossin, Ross Nager, Patrick Padon, and Office Managing Director for Houston John Niemann.

For over 13 years David has worked on providing comprehensive tax, financial, estate, and investment counseling services to high net worth individuals, businesses, athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurial families. His industry knowledge is broad, having worked on real estate, agriculture, construction, oil and gas services, financial services, and retail projects during his time.

David has been a critical part of our growth in the Houston office. His extensive expertise will be an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our practice.”

Before transferring to the Houston office in 2014, David was part of the West Palm Beach office of Andersen Tax. Prior to joining Andersen Tax, David was with Arthur Andersen in West Palm Beach and was a representative at a financial services firm in Coral Gables, Florida. He is also a current member of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum and is a part of the Investment and Newsletter Committees for Andersen Tax.

Chicago office has promoted Sean Bruen, Rosa DeLuna-Frede and Scott Deichmann.

Sean Bruen, with over 15 years of business experience, practices in the firm’s Corporate Tax Practice. Sean provides federal and state tax services for C Corps, S Corps and LLCs, including experience in accounting methods, accounting for income taxes, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Sean specializes in closely-held businesses, transaction cost studies, return review, as well as, quality control and depreciation issues. Sean is passionate about stewardship and spends significant time developing staff. “Stewardship is not just a buzzword at Andersen Tax, the partners really walk the walk and I hope to pay that forward to our younger people,” added Chicago Managing Director, Sean Bruen. He has participated on the Training Committee, the Scheduling Committee and the Manager/Director Advisory Council. Sean is also the Recruiting Lead for the University of Notre Dame.

Rosa DeLuna-Frede has over 17 years of experience in advising publicly held and private companies on tax matters such as Accounting for Income Taxes, Accounting Methods, Federal and State Tax Compliance and tax audits. Rosa also focuses in the Mergers and Acquisition area, specifically on tax structuring, tax due diligence, and analyzing the tax treatment of transaction costs.

Rosa has great client relationships and is very focused on the quality of projects and client service. She is very successful at mentoring all levels of personnel from Interns through Senior Managers. Rosa is involved with local office and firmwide training initiatives. In addition, she is also conducting external training in the Accounting for Income Taxes area. As the firm is expanding its footprint into Latin America, she is taking the lead in the Chicago office with respect to Latin American Business Development. Rosa is the recruiting lead for DePaul University and has had significant involvement over the years. Finally, Rosa is very involved with the Women at Andersen Tax initiative.

Scott Deichmann has served clients throughout the country focusing on each family’s unique wealth planning objectives and needs. He has over 20 years of tax, estate and wealth planning experience for ultra-high net worth individuals and families. Scott has outstanding technical skills and excels in client relationship management.

Scott is very involved with local office training and recruiting, including co-chairing the Chicago office PCS technical sessions. He is also heavily involved in mentoring and is committed to the development of the staff. Scott strives to provide all of his clients with the best possible solution and not just from a tax perspective. By focusing on client prosperity and training staff, in turn he is helping the next generation of tax professionals develop and expand Andersen Tax.

In Southern California Tim Wylie has been promoted to Managing Director. He is part of the Private Client Services practice, and will join the team of 17 Managing Directors in the Southern California area.

Tim has over 15 years of experience advising high net worth individuals and their related businesses, trusts, foundations, and other entities. He provides income, estate and gift tax planning and compliance, and charitable giving strategies. In addition, Tim advises global families, as well as inbound and outbound individuals, with respect to international income, estate and gift tax planning and compliance.

“Tim has been an integral part of our PCS practice in the Los Angeles office and we have been able to count on him to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This is a key characteristic that sets Tim and our practice apart,” said Office Managing Director, Bill Amon. “He also is a technical resource for the firmwide Tax Exempt Advisory Services specialty group, which has been a critical aspect of delivering superior quality.”

Frank Hobmeier has been made a Managing Director in the Commercial Practice group in the Los Angeles office. Frank is based out of Los Angeles and Woodland Hills, where he specializes in tax provisions, federal tax consulting and tax compliance for companies.

Prior to Andersen Tax, Frank founded the Tax Consulting Services group at CNM LLP as a Partner. While at CNM, Frank led all ASC 740 tax provision engagements and also oversaw various tax compliance and tax consulting projects for corporate and flow-through entity clients. Before CNM, Frank was at Andersen Tax (formerly WTAS) for over three years, where he last held the role of Managing Director. He was a key member in building out the Los Angeles office’s commercial tax practice and was also the Los Angeles market leader for the Accounting for Income Tax service line.

Frank is licensed as a certified public accountant in California and received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from California State University, Northridge.
