Internal Moves and External Hires at EY USA Tax
Listed below of some of the recent senior level moves at EY’s tax team in the US.
Partners/Principals
David Franklin joins EY’s National Tax Department as a principal located in New York. David comes from Deloitte, where he spent five years as a director and then a principal. He focuses on the taxation of partnerships and partners, with an emphasis on real estate, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Deloitte, he spent 10 years at Kronish, Lieb, Weiner & Hellman and Cooley LLP.
Mary-Lynn Desmeules moves to EY’s National Tax Department in Chicago from EY Calgary where she was a partner leading global immigration and US immigration engagements. She brings 25 years of experience in Mobility Tax and Immigration, and will continue her focus on mobility services as a principal in the People Advisory Services practice.
Before her stint in Calgary Mary-Lynn was Human Capital Leader for EY in Africa, based from Johannesburg.
Executive Directors
Michael Huber returns to the EY National Tax Department as an executive director focusing on credits and incentives in the New York office. Huber began his career at EY and has worked at ADP, Cushman & Wakefield and KPMG.
Maureen Hughes returns to EY Tax in New York as an executive director in global compliance and reporting, focused on financial services and asset management. Hughes started her tax career with EY where she spent five years as a tax manager. Her 25-year career includes tax positions at several professional services companies including Deloitte, PWC and Grant Thornton, primarily for investment advisors and companies.
Michelle Wallig joins the EY National Tax Department, based in Philadelphia, as an Executive Director focused on Tax Performance Advisory. Wallig, a career Data Scientist with 30 years of experience in the banking, insurance and software industries, was previously a Senior Director and Principal Architect for Vertex. She was with Microsoft for 15 years as an IT Group Program Manager for Tax and Xbox, then as a Principal Consultant focused on data sciences.
Cristin Boynton joins the EY Financial Services Organization in Tampa, FL, focusing on Tax Performance Advisory. Boynton spent the last five years with Corptax Professionals Services. Previously, she worked in tax accounting and compliance at Covidien and as a tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax IT specialist for United Technologies Corporation. Boynton has held prior tax positions at Deloitte and Arthur Andersen.
