Dermot Callinan joins Saffery Champness, based from the Harrogate office
Saffery Champness announced today that Dermot Callinan has been recruited as a partner in its Harrogate office. He joins from KPMG, where he recently served as head of the UK private client advisory team.
Dermot is a specialist in domestic and international personal taxation and his clients include wealthy individuals (both UK and non-UK domiciled), global families, family offices, partnerships, entrepreneurs, trustees and family companies. While based at Saffery Champness’ Harrogate office, Dermot will be servicing client needs across the UK. He will become a partner with effect from 1 October 2017.
Dermot has advised on personal taxation for over 30 years and at KPMG was responsible for a team of more than 170 tax professionals, including 18 partners and directors. He has led UK and international tax advice to shareholders on some of the largest and most complex private company disposals, stock market listings and private equity transactions. He also advises complex multi-generational trusts, family offices and family investment companies.
Prior to joining KPMG in 1991, Dermot worked with EY and Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He is a Chartered Tax Adviser and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
