Borenius announces Two New Tax Partners
Finnish law firm, Borenius, has strengthened its tax practice with the promotion of two new partners Einari Karhu and Heikki Wahlroos as of 1 January 2018.
”Our tax practice has successfully grown over the years, and these two promotions reflect our continuing investment in what we believe to be a growing service area in the future. The need for independent, high value adding tax services is continuously growing in the market, partly due to complex tax regulation and an increase in bet-the-company tax litigation. The market has clearly recognised the value of law firms in important tax litigations. In addition, tax is an important factor in all transactions and advisory assignments for our clients. The promotions of Einari and Heikki will bring the number of our tax partners to three, and together with our head of tax practice Janne Juusela, we are committed to continue to provide market leading tax advice in complex transactions and tax disputes,” says Borenius Managing Partner Casper Herler.
Einari and Heikki advise clients in complex transactions, tax disputes and tax planning. They both have a wealth of experience in domestic and international taxation. In recent years, Einari and Heikki have been involved in several major tax disputes concerning transfer pricing and international tax planning, as well as in some of the largest IPOs, public financing transactions and private equity deals in Finland.
“We warmly welcome Einari and Heikki as partners to our tax team. Both are experienced and talented lawyers who have worked at the firm for almost 10 years. We strive to provide independent, practice-oriented tax advice in situations where we can bring the best value to our clients. With these two promotions we are better prepared than ever to meet our clients’ expectations,” says Partner Janne Juusela.
The Borenius tax team advises on all aspects of domestic and cross-border taxation, including transfer pricing and value added taxation. The team focuses on providing high value adding tax services in transactions and tax controversies.
