Marna Ricker succeeds Kate Barton as EY Global Vice Chair – Tax

 In Ernst Young, EY

Ernst & Young LLP (EY) announced today key appointments to Tax leadership positions, including Marna Ricker as EY Americas Vice Chair – Tax Services, effective July 1, 2018. As leader of EY Tax services across the Americas region, Ricker will oversee the organization’s largest Area of Tax practices by revenues and will lead more than 14,500 tax professionals at EY member firms serving clients in North, Central and South America and Israel.

“Marna’s leadership has been instrumental to our success for many years in serving our great clients and helping them navigate through the dynamic tax landscape,” said Kelly Grier, EY US Chairman and Managing Partner and EY Americas Area Managing Partner. “Our people know her as a champion of collaboration, mentorship, professional development and inclusiveness, modeling all the best attributes of our EY culture.”

Ricker currently serves as the US Central Region Tax Managing Partner, a role she has held since April 2014. She is a member of the Americas Tax Operating Committee and has also served as an elected member of the Americas Advisory Council. An International Tax Services partner by background and 24-year EY veteran, Ricker has held various client serving, leadership and market-facing roles, including Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska Market Segment Leader in which she was responsible for market strategy and all aspects of client service across the firm’s service lines.

“With all the disruption happening in tax – from fast changing tax policy globally, to new business operating models, to advancing technology – it is more important than ever to deliver impactful tax advice to align with and accelerate our clients’ business strategies,” said Ricker. “These changes present significant growth opportunities for our tax professionals. I look forward to working right alongside our Tax Service leaders and teams to advance these new, evolving experiences and magnify their abilities as highly engaged, innovative and world-class tax professionals. I’m particularly honored to follow the path of Kate Barton, a trailblazing female leader who unwaveringly believes in bringing forward a diverse and talented next generation of leaders.”

Prior to moving to the Minneapolis office, Ricker spent several years working on international tax matters globally and in our EY Cincinnati and New York offices. She is a licensed CPA and attorney with degrees from The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
