Mahyra Roy joins tax leadership team at The Cragus Group
The Cragus Group has welcomed aboard the newest member of its Tax Leadership team. Mrs Mahyra Roy will work alongside Abdelhamid Attalla, William J. Brown, Matthew Moriarty, Robert E. B. Peake, Mark Stevens and Dominic C. Treays.
Mahyra previously worked with Andersen, Deloitte and KPMG in the UK, before moving to the Middle East in 2003. Mahyra spearheaded KPMG’s international tax practice in the United Arab Emirates, before moving to the Ernst & Young Middle East practice. She later served as in-house as the Tax Director for Dubai World (owned by the Government of Dubai), between 2007 and 2010, including during the global financial crisis, setting up their tax function, implementing their transfer pricing, and overseeing transactions and structuring across over 40 jurisdictions globally. She then became a Global Partner at PwC, with M & A and International Tax responsibility for the Middle East, and in recent years has been an independent tax and business consultant in her own business, The Alpha Game.
Mahyra is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with over 25 years’ experience in international tax structuring, mergers & acquisitions, business restructuring, and project management experience with both multinationals and government entities across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. She has been recognised and quoted in both World Tax and International Tax Review in past years.
