Linn Thurber acquired by EY and will join Private Client Services practice
Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) announced today that the professionals of Houston-based Linn Thurber have joined the Private Client Services practice of EY US Tax. In this capacity, they will offer comprehensive tax services to a variety of high net worth individuals and entities including owners of private businesses, families, domestic and foreign trusts, as well as private equity and venture capital funds.
“We are laser-focused on continuing to expand our Private Client Services practice,” said Marna Ricker, EY Americas Vice Chair of Tax Services. “Our private clients are looking for increasing support from us as they navigate the complex and rapidly changing US and global tax environment. This Houston-based team will be a great addition to our fast-growing EY Private Client Services family.”
Linn Thurber has a 28-year history of providing tax and professional services to high net worth families, led by founder and Chairman Lewis Linn and Robert Gonzales, who joined the firm from EY in 2014. After years of organic growth, Linn Thurber leadership was interested in providing clients with the next level of comprehensive services.
“Today’s business and financial environment is transforming, and requires a broad platform, the latest in technology and deep technical expertise,” said Linn. “Our clients’ businesses and lives stretch across the US and beyond. These families will appreciate EY’s network of global resources as well as access to the latest technology to support every aspect of their tax, finance and audit matters.”
“Culturally, the two organizations are very much aligned,” added Gonzales. “Both firms have focused on exceptional client service and the development and support of people. We are looking forward to the incredible opportunities the EY organization provides, as well as access to the organization’s leading-edge technology.”
