Ali Noroozi joins PwC Australia
PwC Australia has announced that former Inspector-General of Taxation, Ali Noroozi would join the firm as a new Partner in its Financial Advisory business.
Mr Noroozi is joining the firm with two key areas of focus. Firstly, he will work with PwC’s Tax Controversy and Dispute Resolution team advising clients on complex tax matters and helping clients prevent, efficiently manage and favourably resolve tax disputes.
He will also work closely with clients on complex tax matters, with a focus on governance and providing holistic tax advice.
The leader of PwC Australia’s Tax Practice, Pete Calleja, said “As the former Inspector-General of Taxation for the last decade, Ali’s commitment to improving our national tax system and its administration has been unwavering, in particular his dedication to driving a consistent, fair and equitable experience for taxpayers.”

In the past decade, the Government agency formerly headed up by Mr Noroozi conducted 32 reviews including tax disputes and penalties. Since 2015 the agency has also handled more than 8000 taxpayer complaints achieving resolution with a very high level of satisfaction across these matters.
