Freshfields promotes 3 tax lawyers in Europe to counsel
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has announced the promotion of 37 new counsel across its practices around the world. These promotions will be effective on 1 May 2019.
In terms of tax lawyers, the following have been promoted:
Sarah Bond, London
Sarah is based in the firm’s London office and her practice focuses on tax investigations and disputes, across both direct and indirect taxes.
She has extensive experience of high value, complex disputes across a variety of sectors, including in particular diverted profits tax and transfer pricing investigations. She has represented clients a number of times before the UK tax tribunals.
Sarah also has experience in advising on the tax aspects of a variety of corporate and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, tax structured finance transactions and restructurings, both domestic and cross-border.
Andre Happel, Frankfurt
Andre focuses on providing tax advice for financial institutions, private equity funds and other corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and other domestic and international corporate tax matters.
He also counsels clients on tax matters relating to restructuring cases and advises partnerships and their partners on their tax affairs.
Andre speaks English and German.
Ayk Meretzki, Hamburg
Ayk Tobias is a qualified lawyer and tax advisor at the Hamburg office. He regularly advises on national and international tax structures for acquisitions and on corporate restructures and reorganisations.
Ayk Tobias joined the firm in 2011 and speaks German as well as English.
