Richard Maitland joins human capital team at MHA MacIntyre Hudson
MHA MacIntyre Hudson has appointed Richard Maitland as a partner in its human capital advisory team.
With 18 years of experience in the field of human capital, Richard will lead all client work related to employment tax, in addition to spearheading the firm’s national minimum wage consulting proposition. HMRC’s data-driven national minimum wage reviews have resulted in significant notices of underpayments being issued to individual companies, with £15.6 million in overall arrears identified by HMRC in 2017/18. Richard has supported clients across the retail, gig economy and business services sectors to present robust defences to HMRC challenges in this key area of compliance.
Richard joins MHA MacIntyre Hudson from KPMG where he was a director in people services for over eight years. His other experience includes roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers also in the human resources service line.
Richard will be based in MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s London office.
David Wignall, Partner in MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s Human Capital Advisory team, said:
“Richard’s deep experience complements our existing expertise and demonstrates our commitment to developing our senior team in the field of human capital. An increasingly mobile work force and more vigorous enforcement of tax and employment rules by HMRC pose a variety of challenges for businesses. Richard’s appointment means we are extremely well-equipped to provide the full range of consulting services to our clients, including advice on global mobility, incentive schemes, immigration assistance and employment tax and compliance.”
