… and the Director of Global Tax Policy job at Netflix goes to…Giammarco Cottani
Giammarco Cottani has been recruited as Netflix’s new Director of Global Tax Policy.
From 2015 to 2019 Mr Cottani headed the Transfer Pricing practice at the tax and law firm Ludovici Piccone and Partners. In this role, Giammarco gained substantial expertise in the area of international tax disputes and advice to MNEs on transfer pricing and international tax issues.
Until August 2015 he acted as Advisor on International Tax to the Central Assessment Director of Italy Revenue Agency. In this role, He focused on international tax issues related to large multinational groups and SMEs, with a specific focus on transfer pricing issues. He was one of the delegates for Italy involved in the BEPS project.
From 2009 to 2011 he worked as a Transfer Pricing Advisor in the Transfer Pricing Unit of the OECD, where he was involved in the introduction of the new Chapter IX of the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines concerning business restructurings. He led or co-led more than 20 events in the area of transfer pricing for a number of non-OECD countries.
Giammarco served as a Member of the UN Sub-Committee Group in charge of the Draft of the Practical Manual on Transfer Pricing for Developing Countries.
He received his degree in Law from LUISS Rome University in 2003, an LL.M in European and International Taxation from the European Tax College (Tilburg and Leuven) in 2005, and a PhD in Corporate Taxation from LUISS Rome University in 2009.
