Chris Smale returns to Linklaters’ tax team
Linklaters has announced that Chris Smale will be joining as a partner in the London Tax practice. Chris is currently a partner at Kirkland & Ellis where he focuses on Private Equity and Corporate tax work.
Chris is a Linklaters alumnus, having qualified into the London Tax practice in 2006 before leaving the firm in 2010 to take a tax structuring role at a leading global interdealer broker. He subsequently became the General Counsel and Head of Tax at a hedge fund and, prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, developed and built a self-owned swap arranging business before negotiating its sale to the London Stock Exchange Group.
Linklaters Global Head of Corporate, Aedamar Comiskey, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Chris back to the firm where he will play a key role in advising funds and financial sponsors, as well as corporate clients, across all practices and sectors.”
