Phil Tatarowicz joins the SALT team at Blank Rome
Blank Rome LLP has welcomed Philip M. Tatarowicz as Of Counsel to the Firm’s Tax, Benefits, and Private Client group in the Washington, D.C., office. Phil joins from Morrison & Foerster LLP and adds to the Firm’s growing State + Local Tax (“SALT”) practice, which expanded in February with the addition of partners Craig B. Fields, Nicole L. Johnson, and Mitchell A. Newmark, and then grew further in March by welcoming partner Holly L. Hyans; Senior Counsel Irwin M. Slomka; Of Counsel Matthew F. Cammarata, Eugene J. Gibilaro, and Kara M. Kraman; and Senior Attorney Michael A. Pearl.

Phil brings more than 42 years of experience providing tax advice to many of the world’s largest corporations across multiple industry groups, including industrial products, retail, consumer goods, aerospace, healthcare, entertainment, and utilities. He has handled every major aspect of corporate SALT matters, with a primary focus on corporate income, property, payroll, sales and use, gross receipts, and other transaction-based taxes. He has consulted on tax controversies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. In addition, he has served as an expert witness and technical adviser in numerous disputes involving SALT issues before federal and state courts. He has helped craft legislative and administrative tax proposals, testified before government agencies and officials, and served on prominent industry and state and local tax reform commissions.
