Mark Davies commented
“Roger is an excellent addition to our firm. Meeting your new colleagues for the first time on Zoom sounds frankly terrifying but by 10.00 AM on his first day it felt like he had always been part of our team. He brings a wealth of experience to help us develop our practice. He is an outstanding personal tax specialist. Roger’s arrival could not be more timely, despite the impact of the pandemic we are seeing many clients who still need tax advice to move to and from the UK and who have been left with urgent residency and remittance issues by travel restrictions stranding them unprepared.”
Roger’s primary focus is on capital taxes planning for UK and non-UK domiciled individuals, together with advising on all other taxes that affect the individual, including income tax, SDLT and CGT. Roger believes “it is my thorough understanding of tax compliance which allows me to use more effective tax planning techniques as it gives me an insight into the workings of HMRC and how their thought processes developed.”
Roger is the current Chair of the Kent Branch of the CIOT and sits on the Low Incomes Tax Reform Group committee, helping to steer the government and create positive tax policy for those in society who cannot afford the advice required to navigate the UK’s complex tax system.
