Stuart Brodie joins Markel Tax

Stuart Brodie has joined the Markel Tax team as a partner.

He will initially be covering Melanie Hicks’ maternity leave from July to January. After that will move into a VAT-focused role working alongside the existing team.  

Stuart is a Chartered Tax Adviser and has over 20 years’ professional experience. He trained at Deloitte and then spent 15 years at Grant Thornton where he became a partner in 2012. He left the firm in 2019.

Stuart has represented a number of clients in the tax tribunal and through ADR. This includes VAT liability questions, deductibility of input tax, and the application of the change of use provisions. He specialises in the financial services and care sectors as well as advising widely in the food and drink sector.
