George Campbell re-joining Keypoint to head its tax practice
Keypoint, one of Bahrain’s leading professional services firms, has announced that George Campbell has been appointed head of its tax advisory function. “We are very pleased to have George re-join us and take on this leadership role,” affirmed Wajdi Al Jallad, Keypoint’s managing director. “George was the technical thrust behind the establishment of our tax advisory practice in 2017 – he is widely recognised as a leading trusted advisor on a range of VAT issues – and we are excited at the impetus he will add to our tax team and the firm more widely as GCC economies emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Keypoint group, which has offered advisory to clients since 2006, currently has 10 service lines, with tax advisory an important part of its services, according to Al Jallad, who has overseen consistent growth across the group since he founded the business. “Over the last 15 years, we have developed a hard-earned reputation for going the extra mile for our clients, innovatively solving a range of business issues. As the head of our tax advisory practice, George will help clients optimise their VAT systems, bringing a mature VAT perspective to a maturing tax market and tailoring sophisticated solutions that recognise that – with different organisations having different needs – a broad brush approach is no longer appropriate. As transactions multiply, supply chains become more sophisticated and the consequences of mistakes become more significant, we know that this is the right time to bring George back on board.”
Campbell has a professional services background, having worked with ‘Big 4’ firms in the UK and across the GCC. He has been working with businesses across the region – with a particular focus on family businesses and the consumer products and retail, automotive, financial services, manufacturing and international trade sectors – to implement and optimise VAT and other business systems for the last five years, Welcoming the opportunity to re-join Keypoint, Campbell commented, “Returning to lead Keypoint’s tax practice is an honour, and I am looking forward to bringing the very best, tailored tax advice to clients in an increasingly complex tax landscape, alongside Keypoint’s highly experienced team.”
