Peter Abbott joins Kirkland & Ellis tax partner team in London

Kirkland & Ellis has announced that Peter Abbott will join the Firm as a tax partner in the London office. 

“Peter is a market-leading advisor to private equity funds and will be a strong addition to our European tax practice,” said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “We are really pleased to welcome him to Kirkland.”

Mr. Abbott focuses his wide-ranging tax practice on private equity transactions, and public and private mergers and acquisitions. He also advises investment fund clients on structuring private equity and special opportunity investments, and on related refinancings and exits.

Mr. Abbott is a chartered tax adviser and regularly speaks and writes on tax matters. He joins Kirkland from Macfarlanes, where he was a partner in the London office. Earlier in his career, he was seconded to a leading U.S. law firm in New York.
