PwC UK appoints Laura Hinton as Head of Tax

PwC UK has appointed Laura Hinton as its new Head of Tax. As UK Tax Leader, Laura’s new role will include leadership of PwC UK’s Tax, Legal and People and Organisation practices.

Laura has over 25 years’ experience as a business consultant, specialising in HR and workforce transformation, operating model programmes and culture change. She has been a partner in PwC since 2006. Prior to taking on this role, Laura was PwC UK’s Chief People Officer, and has been a member of the Executive Board for over five years, where she was also responsible for the firm’s overall transformation programme.

PwC is a leading provider of tax, legal and HR consulting and workforce organisation services in the UK. It works with clients ranging from multinational organisations and public sector bodies to entrepreneurs and family businesses.

Laura succeeds Marrissa Thomas who takes on the role of PwC’s Chief Operating Officer.

PwC UK also announces three new partner promotions in its tax practice.

Vicky Bradford has been promoted to partner in PwC UK’s Tax Reporting and Strategy network, as part of the Tax Enterprise Resource Planning and Data team. She will be leading large scale tax technology and transformation programmes for large listed and inbound businesses.

Harriet Newlyn has been promoted to partner in PwC UK’s HR Transformation and Technology practice and is responsible for delivering large scale HR transformation programmes for a range of multinational clients and leading the HR Transformation Community of Practice.

Matt Timmons has been promoted to partner in PwC UK’s Entity Governance and Compliance (EGC) business, part of PwC UK’s Legal practice. Matt will continue to grow PwC’s EGC business in response to significant and transformational changes in UK Corporate Governance. In addition Matt is PwC Legal’s ESG leader.

PwC UK is continuing to invest in staff progression and within its tax practice has this month  promoted 74 people to Manager, 61 to Senior Manager and 24 to Director, which represents a significant increase on the usual January promotion numbers.
