Grant Thornton promotes R&D tax specialist, Scott Hamilton, to Tax Managing Director in the Los Angeles office
Grant Thornton LLP has admitted Scott Hamilton as Tax managing director in the firm’s Los Angeles office, effective Aug. 1. Across the firm, Grant Thornton admitted 50 new partners and principals and promoted 29 professionals to managing director.
Hamilton joined Grant Thornton in 2005 in the firm’s Phoenix office. With nearly 15 years of corporate tax experience, Hamilton has spent the last 10 years primarily focused on research and development tax incentives, cost segregation, and accounting methods and periods. He has experience with all aspects of a research credit study, from interviewing engineers to defending the credit before the IRS. Now based in the Los Angeles office, Scott is helping to build the firm’s California presence in this specialty area.
Hamilton is a CPA in California. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in taxation from Arizona State University.
