PwC’s Czech Tax Leader is promoted
On 1 July 2007, Stephen B. Booth, 54, took over from Mike Hackworth as Territory Senior Partner (TSP) for PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic. Stephen has led the firm’s Czech tax practice since 2003 and will continue to serve as Czech tax leader and the tax leader of the regional automotive practice.
“I would like to build on the success Mike has achieved over the last 10 years as TSP. As the leading tax partner, I have focused a lot on people development and revenue growth and these will continue to be important areas for me when managing the whole Czech firm,” said Stephen.
“People development is on the top of my list of key initiatives. The development of our people, both personally and professionally, is the fundamental building block for creating and sustaining a profitable and rapidly growing business. We need to be actually shaping our leadership of the future.”
Stephen has been with PwC US since 1981. His professional experience covers corporate and international taxation, including areas such as tax structuring, repatriation of earnings, tax optimisation structures and structuring of merger and acquisition transactions.
Stephen Booth graduated from Boston University and the University of Hartford (Masters of Science in Taxation). He is married and has three daughters. Steve’s hobbies include golf, tennis and sailing, and he also enjoys classical music and opera.
Following the change in leadership, Mike Hackworth will devote himself full-time to his senior role of Managing Partner – Operations and Markets on the regional leadership team for Central and Eastern Europe. He will continue to be based in Prague.
