PwC Ireland appoints two senior industry professionals to its Aviation Finance tax team
With a combined 50-plus years of experience, Gert-Jan Hellemons and Dominic Gormley join PwC Ireland following careers in the aviation industry at GECAS
Both Gert-Jan and Dominic bring deep industry knowledge and technical expertise to the team. In particular, their global tax expertise and direct experience of dealing with airlines on contractual matters will uniquely position PwC to support the industry from a tax perspective.
Gert-Jan worked with GECAS for the last 16 years, leading a senior international tax team and advising GECAS on a broad range of tax matters with a focus on global asset sales and Chinese tax matters. Prior to his time at GECAS, Gert-Jan worked at EY. Throughout his career, he has worked in Amsterdam, Chicago and Ireland.
Dominic worked with GECAS for the last 12 years. From his base in Singapore, he advised GECAS on Asian tax matters, including tax issues arising on GECAS’ leases with customers in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Malaysia. Prior to GECAS, Dominic worked in the London, New York, Lisbon and Singapore offices of KPMG.
Yvonne Thompson, PwC Ireland Aviation Finance Leader, commented: “The addition of Gert-Jan’s and Dominic’s unrivalled industry experience further enhances our PwC Ireland Aviation Finance team of over 60 tax professionals.
