Rhys Owen joins A&M’s fund tax practice in London
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has added to its Taxand advisory team with the appointment of Rhys Owen as Managing Director in London, to help expand the firm’s fund taxation practice.
Mr. Owen brings over 13 years of experience within private equity fund taxation, having structured a number of the largest private equity and infrastructure funds in Europe, as well as working on high profile fund raises across the private credit, real estate and venture capital markets.
Prior to joining A&M, Rhys spent four years with EY in London, where he was most recently a Partner. Prior to that, he was at KPMG where he worked for a number of large European and U.S. asset managers and advised on fund launches, carried interest planning and continuation funds for a range of different clients. In addition, Mr. Owen has advised on a number of credit funds in relation to the restricting and leveraging of their facilities across Irish, Luxembourg and U.S.- based structures.
This strategic hire, in the firm’s growing Tax practice, reflects the team’s significant growth over the last few years, and demonstrates the firm’s intent to become recognised as the market leading independent funds tax practice.
