New York University School of Law partners with Dewey & LeBoeuf to launch Pro Bono scheme for low income US taxpayers
[private]Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP has announced that it is working in conjunction with New York University School of Law to form a tax clinic program for law students in order to represent low income taxpayers in U.S. Tax Court litigation and IRS administrative proceedings.
The tax clinic will begin in the law school’s spring semester of 2010 and will be taught and managed by members of the Firm’s tax department. The program will provide vital and important assistance to the underrepresented taxpayers in the New York metropolitan community through the combined resources, experience and reputations of the Firm and New York University, which has one of the leading tax law programs in the country.[/private]
