Prof. Dr. Alexander Hemmelrath joins WTS Executive Board
German tax law expert Prof. Dr. Alexander Hemmelrath and his team have joined the WTS Group. With this move WTS – one of the major German tax consulting firms – is expanding its service portfolio, particularly with regard to advice for private clients and owner-managed businesses but also in the field of transaction tax advice.
In February 2011 Prof. Dr. Alexander Hemmelrath and his team joined the WTS Group at the Munich office.
The existing team around attorney-at-law Dr. Tom Offerhaus, which renders services in the field of ‘Private Clients & Non Profit Organisations’ ,will be increased significantly to about ten highly-qualified and skilled employees. The focus of Alexander Hemmelrath’s team will be on comprehensive consulting services for owner-managed businesses as well as the support of entrepreneurial families in all tax and legal matters involving business succession and law of inheritance.
In the future this extended range of services concerning ‘Private Clients & Non Profit Organisations’ will be offered on the market by a separate entity called ‘WTS Hemmelrath’.
In addition, Alexander Hemmelrath, who gives lectures in reorganisation tax law at the University of Osnabrück, will work in the field of transaction tax advice.
With this move WTS consistently pursues its strategy to attain a leading market position in all important areas of tax consulting. In the past few months the WTS Group had already visibly extended its expertise in the area of transaction tax and tax structuring advice by taking on Stefan Hölzemann, formerly Co-Head of Taxes at Noerr LLP. The team of Dr. Carsten Fischer, Dr. Bela Jansen and Dieter Lübbehüsen who recently joined the WTS Frankfurt office from Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP has attained a leading market position in asset management and all related regulatory and tax matters in Germany.
