Bruce Thompson leaves McGladrey to join Sikich

Sikich LLP, a leading accounting, advisory, technology and managed services firm, has announced that Bruce Thompson, CPA, CFP has joined the firm’s Springfield, Illinois office as a tax partner. With more than 30 years of experience, Thompson is responsible for project planning and management, supervising client engagements, and providing industry expertise to clients and Sikich staff.

“We are very excited about adding Bruce to our tax services area, as he brings a wealth of knowledge in assisting both businesses and individuals with tax compliance and planning,” said Tom Krehbiel, partner-in-charge of Sikich’s Central Illinois practices. “Recognized as one of the top tax professionals in the area, Bruce’s expertise in the tax planning and business consulting areas will add more depth to our tax services team.”

Prior to joining Sikich, Thompson was a director of tax services for McGladrey LLP where he focused on providing businesses and individuals with tax compliance and consulting services, estate and gift planning, and general business consulting to owner-managed companies.

Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in business with an accounting focus from Eastern Illinois University. He has also earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the state of Illinois, and is a Certified Financial Planner. To maintain his knowledge of the accounting and tax industry, Thompson stays active in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the Financial Planners Association. He is also a member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the Island Bay Yacht Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Chatham Jaycees.
