Karen McGrory and Jane Mulholland join BDO as tax partners
Accountancy and business advisory firm, BDO LLP, has announced two new partners joining its tax team.
Karen McGrory and Jane Mulholland are both joining the firm in November. Karen joins the expatriate team in London, while Jane will be part of the corporate tax team in Southampton.
Karen McGrory trained with Coopers & Lybrand prior to working at Deloitte & Touche and KPMG, where she progressed to senior tax manager. She joined RSM Tenon in 2008 as an Associate Director and progressed to partner in 2010. Over the last 22 years, Karen has specialised in international mobility tax and HR issues, with deep expertise on expatriate tax matters. As a partner, she will work within BDO’s expatriate team in London, headed by Andrew Bailey.
Jane Mulholland qualified with PwC, where she progressed to tax manager. Following a period as an accountancy lecturer with Manchester Metropolitan University and self-employment, she joined Arthur Andersen as a senior corporate tax manager. Jane joined BDO in Southampton in 2003 as tax director, before holding the same post at PwC in Southampton from 2009. Jane returns to BDO with 25 years’ experience of the corporate PLC and SME markets, advising clients across all areas of corporate and personal tax, including considerable experience of acquisitions and disposals in international and UK markets.
Paul Eagland, Head of Tax, BDO LLP said: “We’re seeing an increasing amount of work within corporate tax and specialist areas such as expatriate services. Though much of the tax work that ambitious businesses need is still UK-based, there’s an uplift in international tax requirements from our clients, both in London and regionally. Following our merger, and as we further grow our client base across the UK, we’re continuing to actively recruit high-calibre advisers at various levels to cater for this demand. Karen and Jane bring considerable and relevant experience to their local offices and the partnership as a whole.”
