Nordic Law Firm, Hannes Snellman, hires tax & private equity partner Heikki Vesikansa from KPMG

Heikki Vesikansa has joined Nordic Law Firm, Hannes Snellman, to head their transaction structuring practice in Helsinki.

He will be advising clients on the tax structuring of investments, divestments, and joint ventures.

Heikki has had a key role in preparing structuring analyses and assessing tax considerations in various private and public M&A matters as well as in equity and debt capital market transactions. He has also defended clients’ tax structures in courts, including advice on recent successful high-profile tax cases at the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court. He has participated in the recent consultations for Finnish interest tax deduction limitations (earnings stripping) and new Finnish rules on the taxation of repayment of equity capital.

Heikki joins Hannes Snellman from KPMG Oy Ab where he has worked since 2001. Until 2010 he was a Director within the M&A practice but was then promoted to partner and took on a broader role as Head of the Private Equity group.
