Duff & Phelps hire Tranfer Pricing guru Clarke Norton
Duff & Phelps, a leading provider of independent financial advisory services, today announced that D. Clarke Norton has joined the firm’s expanding Transfer Pricing practice. Ms. Norton brings 15 years of experience in transfer pricing and business and tax planning issues to Duff & Phelps’ global transfer pricing team. Ms. Norton will be located in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Duff & Phelps also announced that Ray Brown, Paul Burns and Stephanie Graham joined the firm as transfer pricing directors in the Los Angeles office. Each is a seasoned transfer pricing professional with many years of experience serving multinational clients.
Ms. Norton joins the Duff & Phelps team from FTI Consulting, where she led the U.S. Transfer Pricing practice and was a Senior Managing Director of Economic Consulting. Previously, Ms. Norton has been a partner in the Global Transfer Pricing Services practice of KPMG LLP, senior economist at NCR Corporation and chief economist with the Office of Associate Chief Counsel (International) of the IRS.
Ms. Norton is one of the world’s leading experts on transfer pricing, with a distinguished career in both industry and government service. Her broad experience includes acting as strategic economic architect for numerous global transfer pricing documentations, playing a key role in the negotiation of more than 50 Advance Pricing Agreements, and successfully resolving transfer pricing disputes with tax authorities in the United States and worldwide. She has also provided expert witness services in the criminal investigation of a major apparel company’s intercompany transactions, performed strategic and competitive analyses for companies in a variety of industries, and developed cost sharing and intangible transfer strategies.
